چکیده

Background Oftentimes, patients find trunk asymmetry, including thoracic rib hump, shoulder level difference, more troubling than a significant Cobb angle, as topographical deformity can be readily visualized. Evaluating improvement in these back contour parameters lends to additional criteria by which to assess post-surgical improvement. Quantec raster stereography is recognized as an accurate and reliable tool for monitoring threedimensional back contour in patients with idiopathic scoliosis before and after surgery.

Reproducibility of Newly Developed Spinal Topography Measurements for Scoliosis

OBJECTIVE In an effort to limit exposure to ionizing radiation and fully characterize three dimensional changes in the spine of patients with scoliosis reliable non-invasive methods of spinal back contour analysis (Milwaukee Topographic Scanner) (MTS) have been developed. STUDY DESIGN The current study compares spinal topography measurements among different subject positions and evaluates the...

عملکرد ریوی در اسکولیوز ایدیوپاتیک نوجوانان قبل از جراحی ستون فقرات و تاثیر نوع جراحی بر آن

Background: Scoliosis is one of the most common spinal deformities with subsequent decrease in pulmonary function. The effects of surgical correction on the pulmonary function of patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis are controversial. The purpose of the present study was to compare the postoperative pulmonary function changes in different surgical approaches chosen for its correction. ...

The effect of spinal fusion on the long-term outcome of idiopathic scoliosis.

We have investigated the effect of multisegmental spinal fusion on the long-term functional and radiological outcome in patients with scoliosis. We compared these patients both with those whose spine had not been fused, and with a control group. We studied 68 patients with idiopathic scoliosis (34 operative and 34 non-operative) who had been followed up for a minimum of five years after treatme...

Idiopathic scoliosis in children and adolescents: assessment with a biplanar X-ray device

UNLABELLED Idiopathic scoliosis is one of the most common conditions encountered in paediatric practice. It is a three-dimensional (3D) spinal deformity. Conventional radiography is still the modality of choice for evaluation of children and adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis, but it requires repeat radiographs until skeletal maturity is reached and does not provide information about spinal ...
